Use of an iron-chromium-aluminum alloy for components in Diesel engines and two-stroke engines. The alloy contains (in wt.%) 2.5-5.0 Al, 10-25 Cr, 0.05-0.8 Si, more than 0.01-0.1 Y, more than 0.01-0.1 Hf, more than 0.01-0.2 Zr and more than 0.01-0.2 Ce, La or Nd.
