Liquid or paste cosmetic cleaning composition (A) contains one or more alkali soaps (I) and, as thickener, one or more hydroxyalkyl cellulose (II), optionally also additional cosmetic active agents, auxiliaries or additives. An Independent claim is also included for use of (II) for increasing the temperature stability of soap-containing liquid or pastey cosmetic cleaning compositions.
