The stabilizing system for the rear seat of a car comprises a pin (3) on the seat back which is held by a catch (2). This is made up of a rear catch (5) attached to the car bodywork (1) which holds the seat in a rear position and a front catch (4) attached to an inner panel which holds the seat in a forward position. An Independent claim is included for a rear seat fitted with the system.
