Weighing module (1) has a force measurement cell (3) surrounded by a housing (2), with a vertically displaceable force transfer element (6), that is connected to a load support device. The force transfer element passes through an opening (8) in the housing wall (7) and is firmly connected to a vertically moving part of the weighing cell. A dust exclusion device (115) prevents entry of dust between the fixed housing and the moving force transfer element. It has gas supply apparatus (17) connected to it with the associated gas flow serving to deflect dust from the moving parts. The invention also relates to a corresponding method for avoiding dust in a weighing module, especially one used with a conveyor belt transport system.
