<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimum direct reforming type fuel cell system carried on a vehicle having a large slant such as a two-wheeled vehicle or a small ship. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system is equipped with a fuel cell 1, a methanol/water tank 3 storing methanol aqueous solution mixed with methanol and water as fuel, a solution pump 4 supplying methanol aqueous solution from the methanol/water tank to a fuel electrode of the fuel cell, a vapor-liquid separator 7 separating reaction-generated water generated at an air electrode to vapor and liquid, and a communication line 6 returning the reaction-generated water from the vapor-liquid separator to the methanol/water tank. A methanol aqueous solution entrance 21 and a carbon dioxide gas exhaust outlet 26 are provided in an upper base part on a right and left central line of the methanol/water tank, a methanol aqueous solution exit 22 is provided in a lower base part on the right and left central line, so that liquid level is controlled to enable a fuel cell reaction to continue even when the system inclines greatly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
