<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight device with an excellent light utilization rate and low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The back light device has a light guide plate 8, a spot light source 5 arranged so as to become incident on a lower surface 8e side of the light guide plate 8 and a reflection member 11 arranged on the surface of the light guide plate 8. The reflection member 11 is integrally composed of a lower surface part covering the lower surface 8e of the light guide plate 8, a side surface part rising on the peripheral part of the lower surface part covering side surfaces of the light guide plate, and a slanted surface part covering a slanted surface of the light guide plate, and arranged so as to surround the lower surface, the side surfaces, and the slanted surface 21 of the light guide plate 8. The reflection member 11 is composed of a backing sheet 13 and a reflection sheet 14 laminated on the backing sheet 13 by an adhesive, and the the part of reflection sheet 14 corresponding to the ridge lines of the lower surface 8e side and side surface 8a, 8b, 8c, 8d sides is removed in a belt shape with a prescribed width along the ridge lines. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
