<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of hardware compared with the case of storing a plurality of kinds of information differently by enabling to store the plurality of kinds of information in the same associative memory. <P>SOLUTION: The associative memory stores kind identification information for identifying the kind of information to be stored in a corresponding memory address in the predetermined bit fields of each of the plurality of items of data to be stored different memory addresses. An information processing apparatus is provided with a first information processing unit for retrieving the associative memory by using a first retrieving key consisting of first retrieving information corresponding to at least one part of the stored information and first kind identifying information, and performing processing on the basis of a result of retrieval; and a second information processing section for retrieving the associative memory by using a second retrieving key consisting of second retrieving information, of the stored information, corresponding to a bit field whose at least one part is different from that of the first retrieving information, and second kind identifying information different from the first kind identifying information, and performing processing on the basis of a result of retrieval. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
