PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die nozzle of which the dispersion of coating gaps in the die nozzle width direction is small and provide a die nozzle designing method capable of estimating the evenness of the coating film thickness in the width direction with high precision at the time of designing the die nozzle. SOLUTION: The die nozzle has a manifold for distributing a coating solution in the width direction and a slot for extruding the coating solution toward the die tip end from the manifold, composes a die for continuously applying the solution to a web supported by a back-up roll and moved, and satisfies the relation defined by the following equation (1): S<SB>w</SB>(±%)=Q+S<SB>σ</SB><SP>3</SP>+G (1), wherein Q is the theoretical dispersion of solution discharge out of the die tip end; S<SB>σ</SB>is the dispersion of slot opening degree in the width direction; G is the dispersion of coating gaps in the width direction; S<SB>w</SB>(±%) is a required dispersion of the coating film thickness in the width direction.
