PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method using a heat developable photosensitive material by which little color tone difference and stable output images are ensured even in a heat developing machine having a high line speed in heat development. SOLUTION: In the image forming method using a heat developable photosensitive material comprising a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a heat developer and a binder on the same face of a support, the heat developable photosensitive material having aγvalue of 2.0-4.0 at an optical density of 1.2 on a photographic characteristic curve is heat-developed under transport at≥23 mm/sec, or the heat developable photosensitive material having aγvalue of 2.0-4.0 at an optical density of 1.2 on a photographic characteristic curve is developed with a heat developing machine having a distance of≤50 cm between an exposure section and a development section.
