PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display unit, a display device and a picture display system whose power consumption is reduced. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display unit 100 provided with a liquid crystal panel 130 having a display screen 110 consisting of a plurality of pixels and capable of displaying a picture on the display screen 110 by driving respective pixels and a plurality of driving circuits 140a, 140b, 140c, 150a, 150b, 150c, ... for sharing a plurality of divided areas 111_1a, 111_1b, 111_1c, ... obtained by dividing the display screen 110 and driving pixels in respective shared divided areas in accordance with a picture signal expressing a picture is also provided with a driving circuit control part 160 for receiving an available area signal indicating areas in which the picture is displayed and supplying power to the driving circuits 140b, 140c, 150b, 150c for sharing the divided areas corresponding to the area indicated by the available area signal.
