PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which eliminates the effect of the wind on a heat absorption film, prevents the heat absorption film from being soiled with toner, paper powder, etc., and more steadily detects the temperature of a fixing body with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The fixing device 1 includes: a heating roller (fixing body) 2 which has a heater (heat source) 4 and fixes an unfixed toner image T on a recording medium S; a pressure roller (pressure body) 3 which is in pressure contact with the heating roller 2 in order to form a nip through which the recording medium S is conveyed while held between the rollers; a temperature detection element (temperature detector) 5 which detects the temperature of the heating roller 2 by using a heat-resistant film (heat absorption film) 8; and a frame 12 which supports the heating roller 2 and the temperature detection element 5. In the fixing device 1, the temperature detection element 5 is pressed and fixed against the frame 12 with a spring (pressing means) 14. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
