Disclosed is a measuring apparatus which is used for determining an analyte in a liquid sample and comprises the following components: a test element with a test field for applying the liquid sample, said test element being modified in a detectable manner by means of the analyte that is to be determined; a detector which detects the modification and generates an electrical detector signal in accordance therewith; an evaluation circuit that is mounted downstream of the detector and evaluates the detector signal so as to obtain a test result; a display device which is connected to the evaluation circuit and displays the test result; and a unit supplying the electrical components of the apparatus with power. In order to be able to determine the analyte in a simple, convenient, and inexpensive manner, the electrical components (5 to 12) of the apparatus are at least partly configured on a polymer electronics basis.
