<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication module wherein a peripheral IC can access registers having been so far not accessed from the peripheral IC. <P>SOLUTION: The optical communication module 10 is provided with a transmission laser 5, a reception element 6, and the peripheral IC 2 for applying operation control to them. The peripheral IC 2 is connected to a transceiver IC 1 via a peripheral IC serial bus 4. The transceiver IC 1 of the optical communication module 10 and a high order layer side circuit 21 are connected via a high order layer serial bus 3. The transceiver IC is provided with a high order layer register 15 including an NV register and a DOM register, and other registers 16 including a LASI register and a VS register. Both the high order layer serial bus 3 and the peripheral IC serial bus 4 are connected to the high order layer register 15 and the other registers 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
