<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a raw material powder for an ABO<SB>3</SB>-type dielectric ceramic such as BaTiO<SB>3</SB>, which powder contains fine particles and has a uniform composition. <P>SOLUTION: The raw material powder for a BaTiO<SB>3</SB>-based dielectric ceramic is obtained by adsorbing an organic high molecular compound onto a carbonate powder of A element, such as BaCO<SB>3</SB>powder, then mixing an oxide powder of B element, such as TiO<SB>2</SB>powder, with the carbonate powder of the A element, and calcining the mixed powder. The high molecular compound acts so as to suppress sintering and grain growth of the carbonate powder of the A element in the calcining process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
