<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nucleic acid fragment (nucleic acid probe) useful for detecting/identifying a microorganism, especially a hospital acquired infection-causing microorganism and to provide a method for detecting a microorganism, with which the nucleic acid fragment is used and a target microorganism is detected specifically, in high sensitivity, simply and rapidly and a detection kit useful for carrying out the method for detecting the microorganism. <P>SOLUTION: The nucleic acid fragment is a DNA fragment, an RNA fragment or a peptide nucleic acid fragment which has the reversed complementary base sequence of the partial sequence of ribosome RNA gene of a microorganism selected from Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicance and contains at least 10 continuous bases among a specific sequence. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
