<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, an image sensor array and a computer input device capable of executing DC component removing processing and contrast enhancement signal processing in an analog domain of the pixel level of a photo-sensor. <P>SOLUTION: A pixel within an image sensor pixel array is equipped with the photo-sensor which responds to electromagnetic wave illumination, and an initial signal is generated by an initial signal generator in response to the illumination of the photo-sensor. On the basis of the initial signal, a comparison signal generator generates a plurality of comparison signals. One of the comparison signals stays within the pixel and the other comparison signals are sent to the adjacent pixels. Each of the pixels is connected to a comparator and within the pixel, and an internal comparison signal is compared with the total of comparison signals received from the adjacent pixels. On the basis of the comparison result, a data value is latched and used for indicating the relative difference of the pixel illumination. Thus, DC component removing processing and contrast enhancement signal processing can be performed in the analog domain of the pixel level. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
