摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knocking control apparatus for an internal combustion engine, capable of suitably inhibiting an erroneous determination on the occurrence of knocking due to high-intensity engine oscillation even in the case where such oscillation occurs as a result of swinging movements of a piston. SOLUTION: This apparatus is applied to the internal combustion engine equipped with the piston reciprocated in a cylinder. This apparatus detects an intensity of engine oscillation during a preset knock determination period, and determines, on the basis of a comparison between the intensity of the oscillation and a preset knock determination level, whether knocking occurs or not. In a specific operational state where intensity of the engine oscillation occurred according to the swinging movements of the piston is heightened, a determination end timing is changed to a predetermined crank angle CAk which is a timing on a side on which the knock determination period is shortened more than that on a determination end timing (crank angle CA2) set in an operational state other than the specific operational state.
