PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alloy type thermal fuse using a ternary alloy of Sn-In-Bi, having an operational temperature of 130-170°C, with excellent overload property and voltage resistant property, wherein insulation safety after operation is guaranteed, and a thinner fuse element is easily realized. SOLUTION: The wire material for a thermal fuse element has an alloy structure containing more than 43% and less than 70% of Sn, more than 0.5% and less than 10% of In, and residual part of Bi.
