PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable mirroring device using a magnetic tape device by reducing the number of times of repositioning operations in writing data. SOLUTION: This mirroring device is provided with storage devices 101 and 102, drive I/F 103 and 104 being those connecting means, a host I/F 106 being a connecting means with a host device, a data transfer means 108 for executing the transfer process of data, a CPU 105 for controlling them and a control program 107. Data from the host device are received through the host I/F, and written in the first storage device (151), and the data are read from the first storage device, and written in the second storage device (152) so that the mirroring of data can be realized by preventing reliability from being deteriorated in writing data.
