PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for producing a polyalkylphenoxyaminoalkane. SOLUTION: The improved method for producing a polyalkylphenoxyaminoalkane comprises aminoethylating a polyalkylphenol compound with a 2-oxazolidinone or its derivative represented by formula (1) (wherein R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>are independently a hydrogen atom or a 1-about 6C lower alkyl group) in the presence of a basic catalyst. The average molecular weight of the polyalkyl group of the polyalkylphenol compound is about 600 to 5,000, and the reaction is conducted in the presence of an alcohol. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
