摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device which can correct a joint position in a main scanning direction at low costs. SOLUTION: In the image formation device, a positional deviation of each laser beam is corrected by detecting a position detection pattern formed on a photoreceptor 10 with the use of laser beams from semiconductor lasers 1-1 and 1-2. The image formation device which carries out optical writing onto the photoreceptor 10 includes a reference mark 18 which shows a reference position of the photoreceptor 10, a reference mark detecting means 19 for detecting the reference mark 18, a pattern position detector 17 for detecting a main scanning position deviation of the beam in one rotation of the photoreceptor 10 synchronously with a detection signal of the reference mark 18, and a position correction amount arithmetic unit for correcting the main scanning deviation on the basis of information from the pattern position detector 17.
