PROTON CONDUCTOR COMPOSITION AND PROTON CONDUCTOR MEMBRANE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a proton conductor composition with excellent proton conductivity, water resistance and tenacity without increasing the acid concentration of a polyarylene having sulfo groups, and to prepare a proton conductor membrane therefrom.

SOLUTION: The proton conductor composition is composed of a heteropolyacid and a polyarylene bearing the sulfo groups. This invention gives the proton conductor composition with excellent proton conductivity without increasing the acid concentration of the polyarylene having the sulfo groups and gives the proton conductive membrane with a high proton conductivity. The proton conductor membrane is excellent in water resistance and tenacity.
