<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the local peel-off of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer of a mold release film at the time of peeling of a laminate which is obtained by laminating the surface of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer of a pressure-sensitive adhesive film being a protective film for a polarizing plate on the surface of the mold release layer of the mold release film, to enhance the inspection accuracy of the protective film for the polarizing plate to consequently enhance the inspection accuracy of the polarizing plate. <P>SOLUTION: The mold release film for the protective film for the polarizing plate is prepared by providing a mold release layer on one surface of a laminated biaxially oriented polyester base film. The mean surface roughness of one surface of the base film is 0.01-0.03 μm, the residue obtained by filtering a solution of the base film disolved in a solvent contains alkali earth metal atoms and Sb atoms in an amount of ≤0.5 ppm, and the melt specific resistance of the base film at 275°C is specific. In addition, the total light transmittance of the mold release film is ≥89%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
