<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a collecting efficiency of an exhaust fine particle immediately after shopping or immediately after exchanging of the exhaust fine particle. <P>SOLUTION: The fine exhaust filter is provided with a filter body 1 of a honeycomb monolithic structure using porous ceramics. The exhaust fine particle is collected when it passes through a wall between a cell with a chocked upstream end and a cell with a chocked downstream end. An inflammable sheet 2 such as a sheet of air-permeable paper is previously pasted to a front end face of a filter body 1. Immediately after operation starting, the inflammable sheet 2 burns, a fine particle such as a soot generated at that time is attached to the filter body 1 to improve the initial collecting efficiency. Soon the inflammable sheet 2 burns completely due to exhaust heat of operation, and thereafter has no detrimental effect on pressure loss. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
