METHOD FOR CORRECTING OPTICAL PRINT HEAD, OPTICAL PRINT HEAD, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate unevenness of pitch in a conventional optical print head by arranging on a line identical to the optical axis of a light emitting array chip.

SOLUTION: Quantity of light is corrected by performing following steps (1)-(4) sequentially. (1) Focus is adjusted using a light detecting means at least at two points in the longitudinal direction of a light emitting array emitting light and a rod lens array and both arrays are arranged in parallel along the longitudinal direction. (2) The rod lens array is secured to a means which can adjust that position. (3) Optical characteristics are detected for the vicinity of one end of the rod lens array and adjusted finely by the position adjusting means. (4) Optical characteristics are detected for the vicinity of the other end of the rod lens array and adjusted finely by the position adjusting means.
