PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit data by embedding it into other data in digital data, without reducing or altering user data. SOLUTION: There are some cases in which the data is required to embed the data into the other data for copy protection for the entertainment content in a digital medium, for example, when an encryption key and copy control information are distributed with the entertainment content. The digital data used for recognizing start of an area for a modulated data bit stream is embedded in a code. Or the data is designated by selecting one code from plural selective codes.
