PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera that can automatically prepare a directory which is close to the intention of the user. SOLUTION: When a release button 20 is pressed at the time of photographing an object, a memory writer 36 prepares an image file (present file) by correlating photographed image data obtained from a CCD 34 with the data about the photographing location obtained from a GPS instrument 35 and records the file on a memory card 21. At the time of recording the file, the memory writer 36 reads the data about the photographing location from another image file (last file) recorded last time, and compares the data with the data about the photographing location of the present file. When the distance between the two locations is≤1 km, the writer 36 preserves the two locations in the same directory of the memory card 21. When no directory exists in the card 21, the writer 36 prepares a new directory and preserves the present and last files in the new directory. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
