PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a geogrid superior in a balance between strength and extraction resistance at drying/wetting time. SOLUTION: This covering composition protects and reinforces fiber when manufacturing the geogrid. The covering composition for the geogrid being an aqueous composition is provided by being mainly composed of copolymer latex obtained by emulsifying and polymerizing a monomer composed of 10 to 70 wt.% of a conjugate diene monomer and 30 to 90 wt.% of the other monomer copolymerizable with this monomer. Particularly, the copolymer latex is desirably copolymer latex obtained by emulsifying and polymerizing a monomer composed of 10-50 wt.% of a conjugate diene monomer, 0.5 to 10 wt.% of an ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer and 40 to 89.5 wt.% of the other monomer copolymerizable with this monomer.
