PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a stabilized polyamic acid solution which is suitable as a precursor on the production of a formed product such as aromatic polyimide fibers or films. SOLUTION: This method for producing the stabilized polyamic acid solution is characterized by mixing an aromatic polyamic acid solution held at≤30°C with a water-azeotropic solvent, starting the heating of the mixture under a reduced pressure system state, and finally heating the mixture to a temperature in a range of 60 to 150°C to vacuum-distil off the water in the system, while stirring the mixture.
