PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-shrinkable polyester film used for a label for a bottle, especially used for a label which has paper-like appearance on its surface, especially has Japanese pape-like appearance extremely reduced in wrinkles due to shrinkage, shrink irregularity and the generation of strain. SOLUTION: The heat-shrinkable polyester film is characterized in that the thickness difference per a length of 1 cm between the main shrinkage direction of the film and the direction intersecting the main shrinkage direction at right angles thereof is≥3μm. This film contains cavities, and the diameter of the cavities of the surface layer on one surface in at least the thickness direction of the film is 5μm, and the diameter of the cavities at the central part in the thickness direction thereof is≥5μm, and the mean roughness (Ra) on the central line of at least one surface thereof is≥0.1μm.
