PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of sensing dirt on a window by efficiently receiving light emitted from a dirt-sensing light emission element. SOLUTION: The flame sensor includes a window forming a casing; a flame-sensing photocell installed inside the casing to correspond to the window; a dirt-sensing light emission element positioned on the outside of the casing to emit light toward the surface of the window; and a dirt-sensing photocell for receiving the light emitted from the dirt-sensing light emission element and reflected by the surface of the window. The sensor makes it possible to efficiently determine how dirty the window is in terms of the rate at which the reflected light is weakened. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
