PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of extending the available hours of a battery in regular use after charging even if it starts to be used in a state where little power is left in the battery. SOLUTION: It is supposed that the vacuum cleaner drives an electric blower 3 built in a cleaner body 2 by the power of a battery 11 to perform cleaning, and the cleaner comprises a power generating mechanism 12 and a battery charger 13a. The power generating mechanism comprises a windmill arranged in an air duct through which wind generated by the electric blower 11 flows and a dynamo connected to the windmill. The battery charger 13a charges the battery 11 with power generated by the dynamo. As a result, the dynamo accessorily charges the battery 11 with power generated by the dynamo as the vacuum cleaner is used. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
