PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a roller having wear resistance. SOLUTION: The roller comprises a roller body material M made from metal, and a hard layer having a predetermined form, which is welded to the surface of the roller body material M so as to cover or wrap it, and has such a structure as to wrap many fine particles having higher hardness than that of the roller body material M before being heated with a metallic foil.
