<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and simply retrieve appropriate explanatory contents corresponding to a desired headword in an information display device for displaying explanatory information on any headword. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of headwords 31a, 31b, etc., corresponding to retrieval character rows are retrieved from a dictionary contents data memory and displayed as a list of the headwords on a retrieval headword listing screen G2 at its left area, the leading data 32a, 32b, etc., on the explanation contents corresponding to each of the headwords 31a, 31b, etc., are read from a headword table and correspondingly displayed on the retrieval headword-listing screen G2 at its right area. Upon specifying any headword 31 out of the plurality of listed headwords 31a, 31b, etc., the leading data 33a, 33b, etc., on the respective contents of a plurality of explanation items corresponding to the specified headword are read from the explanatory information table and are superimposed on the right area of the screen where the leading data 32a, 32b, etc., of the explanatory contents corresponding to each of the headwords 31a, 31b, etc., are displayed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
