<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a networking unit which performs data communication, utilizing a host name simply by being connected with a network without performing a work regarding setting of the host name, and also to provide a networking device in which the unit is built in. <P>SOLUTION: A user can start the data communication, utilizing the host name set by utilizing a MAC address of the network unit simply by being connected with the network 7 by writing the host name in a second storage device 3 at a manufacturing state.
