PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetron with enhanced oscillation efficiency and saving energy. SOLUTION: The magnetron has a continuous projection 22 in the circumferential direction of a cathode side metallic tube 20 of the magnetron, and the projection 22 and a burring portion 14 provided in a projected condition on a filter case are connected to the same electric potential. As a result, an outer diameter dimension of the metallic tube 20 can be made smaller than that of a conventional metallic tube, and an inner diameter dimension of an annular permanent magnet for a cathode can also be reduced, so that it becomes possible to supply a high magnetic force within a working space composed of a cathode structure and an anode structure in a main body of the magnetron and to obtain the magnetron with a high oscillation efficiency and a high performance.
