PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping force generation valve of a hydraulic buffer capable of improving an assembling property by reducing the number of parts and accordingly reducing assembling costs. SOLUTION: This damping force generation valve with a plurality of leaf valves 5a, 5b, 12, 15 arranged in a laminated state against a valve body of a piston part 6 or a base valve part on the hydraulic buffer and with the inner circumferential side fixed so as to open and close an extension side or pressure side port drilled on the piston part 6 or the valve body is constituted by providing a thick part 16 on an optional one of the leaf valves and a thin part 17 arranged inside of it, forming the thin part 17 of a plate type valve body 19 and forming the thick part 16 of the valve body 19 and an initial load generation part 20 placed on this valve body 19 and welded and fixed on it.
