PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct liquid type writing utensil which can suppress ink blow-off even if drastic pressure fluctuations and temperature rising occur due to the use in aircraft and under an environment of remarkable temperature fluctuations, and at the same time, is excellent in ink discharging properties. SOLUTION: An ink reservoir member 4, which temporarily retains excessive ink corresponding to pressure rising in an ink tank 3, is provided between a pen-point 2 and the ink tank 3. A valve seat 6, which partitions the ink tank 3 into front and rear parts, is provided in the ink tank 3. An ink circulating hole 7 is penetratingly provided forward and backward to the valve seat 6. A float valve 8, which has smaller specific gravity than that of the ink to be stored in the ink tank 3, is stored in the ink tank 3 at the rear of the valve seat 6. It is so constituted that the float valve 8 can close the ink circulating hole 7 when the air in the ink tank 3 is drastically expanded in a state that the pen-point 2 is downward.
