PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work machining device which checks whether a work is normally delivered between main shafts, and detects the presence or absence of abnormal conditions about machining of the work. SOLUTION: The work machining device 1 comprises: a pair of main shaft chucks 10a, 10b; and a servomotor (a drive unit) 23 linearly moving at least either first main shaft chuck or the second main shaft chuck in a direction Z1 between the chucks. The servomotor 23 is controlled by a controlling device 25 to move the main shaft to a specified moving position by operating a torque limiter. An actual moving position of the main shaft chuck is measured by 23, 24, 25. On the basis of the specified moving position and the actual moving position of the main shaft chuck, an abnormal condition detecting device 29 checks whether the work is normally delivered between the main shafts.
