The drive connection for a reinforced concrete drive string has the front edge (6-7) of each pipe section (3) provided with a load transfer ring (9) to fit into the gaps (8) between the pipe sections. The gap width of the joint and a compression coefficient of the load transfer ring are selected to allow the holding and transfer of the applied load.
