FIELD: measurement technology, measurement of distribution of voltages and temperatures in fiber-optical communication lines. SUBSTANCE: reflectometer includes pulse source of luminous radiation, unit for input of luminous radiation into tested fiber light guide, coupler, discriminator and system analyzing scattered radiation. Discriminator comes in the form of resonance amplifier based on stimulated Brillouin scattering. Values of voltage and temperature in fiber-optical communication line are computed by measured values of selectively amplified backward scattering on frequency of Brillouin component. Short light pulse directed into tested fiber-optical communication line is formed in modulation unit from radiation with narrow spectral band by continuous laser. With propagation of light pulse in tested line portion of radiation is scattered backwards, hits detector and is analyzed. EFFECT: enhanced measurement precision and simplified design of reflectometer. 15 cl, 1 dwg |
