PURPOSE: A deflection yoke is provided to reduce the weight and volume of the deflection yoke by optimizing the thickness of the ferrite core of the deflection yoke. CONSTITUTION: A deflection yoke comprises a horizontal deflection coil for horizontally deflecting electron beams; a vertical deflection coil for vertically deflecting electron beams; a holder for supporting and insulating horizontal deflection coil and the vertical deflection coil; and a ferrite core(24) for reducing leakage flux on the return path of the magnetic field generated from the horizontal and vertical deflection coils. The ferrite core has a thickness of 6mm, and maximum thickness point and minimum thickness point. The thickness at the maximum thickness point is 3mm or larger.
