<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect the divergence of a focus of an LED print head as an exposure unit used for an image forming apparatus, and to correct the divergence of the focus. <P>SOLUTION: The LED print head 22 is provided with an LED array and a rod lens array, a density distribution is obtained by scanning a toner image obtained by developing an electrostatic latent image obtained by exposing a photoreceptor drum 21 by a density sensor 28. In a density distribution analysis part 27, an MTF is obtained from a voltage signal obtained by converting the density contribution to a voltage value.
