<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid image forming apparatus and a solid image forming method for easily forming a solid image which a user requests. <P>SOLUTION: Information about the height of a solid image, or the image of a solidifiable portion, to be formed on a recording medium is converted into information on density that is the same as density used for a non-solid image. In accordance with the density information obtained by the conversion, an amount of foamable material formed for the solidifiable portion on the recording medium is controlled.
