<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient print system comprised of a server, clients and printers in the Internet environment and outputting documents from a desired printer in such a manner that if the desired printer is busy in terms of job outputs, an alternate printer close to its location is used for output. <P>SOLUTION: The system is comprised of a server, clients and printers in the Internet environment. To print documents from a client to the desired printer, an attribute setting file is created and sent to the server. On the server, job scheduling is monitored, and if the desired printer is busy, an alternate printer close to the location of the desired printer is retrieved and selected from a printer management database and a setting information file is converted and created for the alternate printer.
