PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus capable of preventing deformation of a printed circuit board such as warpage due to a temperature rise and suppressing occurrence of a positional deviation of a CCD and defocusing. SOLUTION: An end of a CCD 12 is provided with a plurality of leads 15 connected to the printed circuit board 13. Soldering ends 16 of the leads 15 projected from the printed circuit board 15 solder and fix the CCD 12 onto the printed circuit board 12. A spacer 14 is located between the CCD 12 and the printed circuit board 13 so as to avoid a gap from being generated between the CCD 12 and the printed circuit board 13. The spacer 14 is for fixing and supporting the printed circuit board 13 and is joined and fixed to the side of the printed circuit board 13. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
