PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excavating apparatus which enables excavation even in a deep place such as a bottom part inside a steel pipe and the like, pressed in for use in a vertical shaft. SOLUTION: This excavating apparatus is composed of an ascendably/descendably suspended upper body 11, a lower body 12 which is supported in a horizontally movable and tiltable manner by the upper body 11, and a breaker 13 which is supported by the lower body 12.
