摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear which has a good quality and high productivity, and also to provide a forging method for the same. SOLUTION: 1. The gear has a plurality of lines of tooth-shaped parts 18 along the axial direction on an outer periphery or an inner periphery and a peripheral wall 16 connecting with each one end of the tooth-shaped parts 18. The tooth-shaped part 18 comprises a finishing tooth-shaped part 18b having a tooth face with a desired surface roughness, and a tooth end 18a on the peripheral side which is located near a peripheral wall side of the finishing tooth-shaped part 18b and has a tooth surface coarser than that of the finishing tooth-shaped part 18b. 2. The gear has the plurality of lines of tooth-shaped parts 18 along the axial direction on the outer periphery or the inner periphery and the peripheral wall 16 connecting with each one end of the tooth-shaped parts 18. The forge method for the same comprises a rough forging process for forming a preliminary tooth-shaped part which forms a peripheral wall at one end in the axial direction and a length in the axial direction in a workpiece before forming a tooth shape, and a sizing process for executing sizing process from the side opposite the peripheral wall of the preliminary tooth-shaped part and forming the finishing tooth-shaped part which has a shorter axial length than that the axial length in the preliminary tooth-shaped part and has the tooth face with a finer surface roughness.
