Pipeline protective plate production method in which plate elements, especially for enclosing and protecting insulation, are automatically generated from limited pipeline route data and produced using standard and custom elements

Method for producing a line of matching plate elements, e.g. for use in enclosing the insulation of a pipeline, whereby a reduced data set relating to the route of the line is received in a data processing center. The reduced data set is used to automatically generate a complete second data set that completely describes the individual plate elements for fitting to the line. An Independent claim is made for a device for determining the shapes of individual plate elements belonging to a line of such matched elements.
