<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a photographic quality hard copying can be carried out without any jamming in addition to the normal color printing in the size which is equivalent to or smaller than the conventional color image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, a first fixing device 15 which is installed above a transfer position 12 at which the toner image on the recording medium is transferred and fixing the toner image to the recording medium with the toner image transferred on it is provided. A second fixing device 31 to fix again the toner image which is fixed on the recording medium by the first fixing device 15 to the recording medium is provided.
